Amazon FBA fees explained

Amazon charges a referral fee on every sale — 15% in most categories, with a $0.30 minimum — plus, if you use FBA, a fulfillment fee per unit based on size and weight. A small standard item priced $10–$50 pays roughly $3.32–$3.96, and since April 2026 a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge is added on top.

FAQ

What is a good profit margin on Amazon FBA?

Many sellers aim for at least 25–30% margin after all Amazon fees and before PPC, so there is room for advertising and returns.

Is the referral fee charged on shipping?

The referral fee applies to the total sales price, which includes any shipping or gift wrap the buyer pays, but not sales tax.
